Tourists’ interest in hotels in Egypt continues to grow, with the approach of Christmas and New Year celebrations. Hurghada and Marsa Alam airports have seen the arrival of nearly 150,000 tourists of different nationalities in the past few days, an impressive figure that testifies to the attractiveness of this tourist destination.
Germany and Russia are leading the arrivals, followed by Great Britain, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania. Hotel occupancy rates are between 90% and 100%, demonstrating the popularity of the region.
On Saturday, Hurghada airport welcomed more than 100 flights carrying around 22,000 tourists of different nationalities. Some hotels in El Gouna and Sahl Hasheesh have announced that reservations for New Year’s Eve are fully booked, with room rates ranging from 7,000 to 10,000 Egyptian pounds for a double room in a five-star hotel, and between 5,000 and 7,000 Egyptian pounds for a four-star hotel, excluding festive dinners, Christmas parties and artistic events.
The hotels offer a range of luxurious dishes, combining Eastern and Western flavours such as turkey, shrimp and lobster, not to mention unique artistic performances including animation and musical shows.
In order to enhance the tourists’ experience during the holidays, around 50 tourist villages in Hurghada have been granted permits to set up marquees and party tents on the occasion of the New Year.
The management of Hurghada and Marsa Alam airports decorated the facilities with Christmas trees and festive decorations, and tourists were welcomed with flowers and souvenirs. The streets and entrances leading to the airport were also decorated with Christmas lights and decorations, adding to the festive atmosphere.
This influx of tourists not only reflects the unique appeal of Egypt during this festive season, but also the excitement that reigns in the region. The hotels offer unforgettable experiences and a warm atmosphere, which promise visitors memorable memories for the end-of-year celebrations.
