The Minister of Foreign Affairs recently chaired a meeting with the Consular Department to assess efforts to improve consular services for expatriate Egyptians. This meeting is a crucial step in the process of modernizing and optimizing consular interactions with the Egyptian diaspora abroad.
During this exchange, the Minister stressed the importance of increasing communication with Egyptian communities abroad in order to provide fast and efficient services. Digital transformation has become a pressing requirement, providing increased transparency, improved service efficiency, and simplified consular communication.
The senior diplomat highlighted the importance of digital consular services as a key element of a comprehensive strategy to modernize the embassy’s services. He stressed the need to train consular cadres in the use of modern technologies to ensure the provision of high-quality services to Egyptians residing abroad.
The meeting also discussed the steps taken to implement the comprehensive digitalization plan, which will facilitate communication with expatriates and save them time and effort, according to the Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tamim Khallaf.
As part of this plan, an electronic portal will be launched, allowing Egyptian nationals to obtain their consular services remotely. This initiative illustrates the ministry’s continued commitment to modernizing its procedures and providing more accessible and efficient services to its citizens residing abroad.
