The Kaba Bridge, on National Road No. 6 linking Lisala to Bumba and Bonduki, was inaugurated by the Governor of Mongala, Jean Collin Makaka Pap’ekaka. This inauguration marks a major turning point in the region, after the collapse of the bridge in 2022, which had disrupted economic traffic between production areas and consumption centers.
The new bridge, 10 meters long and 5.45 meters wide, is located at the entrance to the city of Lisala. Its concrete construction solves the problems caused by the degradation of the old structure, thus providing a safe and stable route for trade and travel for the region’s inhabitants.
This renovation is part of an approach to develop and modernize transport infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, the rehabilitation of this bridge not only helps facilitate the movement of goods and people, but also stimulates the local economy by promoting trade.
The Governor of Mongala stressed the importance of this new infrastructure for the socio-economic development of the region. Thanks to this Kaba Bridge, the inhabitants of Lisala and surrounding localities will now be able to benefit from better accessibility to services and markets, thus strengthening the links between the different communities of the province.
In conclusion, the inauguration of the Kaba Bridge represents a significant step forward for Mongala and demonstrates the commitment of local authorities to improve the living conditions of the populations and promote regional development. This new infrastructure is an important step towards a more prosperous and sustainable future for the province of Mongala.
