The importance of training on the collection and transmission of security alerts in Beni (North Kivu) is undeniable. Indeed, from 18 to 19 December, more than 50 state and non-state actors benefited from a training session in Kasindi-Lubiriha, a rural commune bordering Uganda. Organized as part of a MONUSCO civil affairs project, this initiative aimed to strengthen the capacities of local actors to effectively combat insecurity in their respective communities.
The territorial inspector of the Beni-Butembo and Lubero region, Martin Paluku Bwanakawa, underlined the importance of this event by emphasizing the need for all participants to master the language of security alerts and responses. The objective of this training was to raise awareness and empower local actors so that they can act in a concerted manner to prevent and respond to emergency situations.
At the end of these two days of intense reflection, the participants signed acts of commitment for peace in the region. This approach demonstrates the common will of local actors to actively invest in promoting a secure and peaceful environment for all the inhabitants of Beni.
