The health project initiated by the National Fund for Reparations for Victims of Conflict-Related Sexual Violence and Victims of Crimes against the Peace and Security of Humanity (FONAREV) brings a breath of hope to the more than 100,000 internally displaced persons living in the camps of Kisangani, Goma and Bunia. These vulnerable populations will be able to benefit from free medical care until the end of January 2025 thanks to the mobile clinics deployed on the ground.
Officially launched in Kisangani in the presence of political figures and civil society, this project is of crucial importance in a context where the health needs of displaced populations are often neglected. By offering comprehensive care, covering both the physical and psychological aspects of victims, FONAREV works to repair the harm suffered by these people facing the devastating consequences of conflict-related violence.
Beyond the strictly medical aspect, this health project represents a strong humanitarian gesture, affirming the desire to comprehensively address the needs of internally displaced persons. By guaranteeing them access to quality care, FONAREV contributes to restoring the dignity of victims and offering them a more serene future perspective.
The establishment of mobile clinics to ensure proximity to care is a commendable initiative that facilitates access to essential health services for displaced persons. Beyond figures and statistics, it is important to highlight the concrete impact of these actions on the daily lives of the populations concerned. By providing free and appropriate medical assistance, FONAREV demonstrates its commitment to repairing the harm caused by violence and crimes against the peace and security of humanity.
In this period marked by numerous humanitarian challenges in the Democratic Republic of Congo, FONAREV’s work on behalf of victims of violence constitutes a significant step towards rebuilding a more just and united society. By supporting internally displaced persons through concrete actions such as mobile clinics, FONAREV embodies the hope of a better future for all those who have been affected by conflicts and human rights violations.
Ultimately, the initiative of the National Fund for Reparations for Victims of Sexual Violence and Crimes against the Peace and Security of Humanity deserves to be recognized for its essential contribution to the protection of vulnerable populations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Through its humane and supportive approach, FONAREV recalls the importance of placing people at the heart of priorities and guaranteeing everyone equitable access to health care.
