**Drought Alert: Delvaux in Danger**

A growing concern is stirring the inhabitants of the Punda and Bangu neighborhoods, located in Delvaux, in the commune of Ngaliema in Kinshasa. Their cry of alarm echoes in the streets, denouncing the inexorable advance of an erosion head that threatens not only their homes, but also their safety and well-being.

According to their poignant testimonies, more than 100 homes have already been swallowed up by this voracious ravine, leaving behind a devastated landscape and shattered lives. At the heart of this distress, a pressing request is heard: urgent intervention by the authorities, and in particular by the Head of State, is necessary to stop this scourge and protect the affected populations.

Pascal Chihinda, a respected figure in the Punda neighborhood, recalls past efforts to stem this destructive phenomenon. Under the old regime, a temporary solution was found with the intervention of a Chinese company, allowing the construction of a protective dike. Unfortunately, due to a lack of sustainable financial support, this initiative could not continue, leaving the way open for erosion to resume its devastating work.

A symbol of connection and vitality for the community, the Lalou road is itself threatened by this growing threat. Connecting several neighborhoods in the region, its possible disappearance would represent a real blow to the mobility and accessibility of residents, isolating entire communities and compromising their daily lives.

Faced with this critical situation, it is imperative that concrete measures be taken quickly to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe. The solidarity and mobilization of all, from local authorities to the affected population, are more necessary than ever to form a united front against this invasive peril.

In this time of crisis, the urgency of the situation cannot be underestimated. The inhabitants of Delvaux are launching a vibrant appeal for national solidarity, so that their voices are heard and concrete actions are taken to protect them and preserve their environment.

United in adversity, they remain determined to defend their territory, their history and their future. Because it is together, hand in hand, that they will be able to face this major challenge and build a safer and more united future for all.
