Fatshimetrie: Three members of a family massacred with machetes in Ituri
Terror has struck the tranquility of Ledza, a small, peaceful village located on the outskirts of Fataki, in the territory of Djugu in Ituri. This Monday, December 16, will remain etched in the memory of the inhabitants, as three members of the same family were savagely killed and two others seriously injured in a brutal machete attack.
Local witnesses report that armed militiamen violently entered the victims’ home, firing shots at random, sowing terror and death in their wake. The screams of terror and the sound of weapons echoed in the peaceful air of this once peaceful village, plunging the inhabitants into anguish and fear.
The victims, including a 32-year-old woman, were rushed to a medical center in Fataki to receive intensive care. Despite the efforts of medical teams, the health condition of the injured remains critical, plunging the community into worry and uncertainty.
This atrocity has cast a dark shadow over the daily lives of farmers in the region, almost completely paralyzing agricultural activities. Fear and mistrust now reign supreme, transforming a once peaceful village into a place marked by violence and terror.
Faced with this unspeakable violence, the population of Ledza and the surrounding area is crying out for help, demanding urgent intervention from the authorities to put an end to these deadly attacks and restore security and peace to the region.
