Terror has struck the tranquility of Ledza, a small, peaceful village located on the outskirts of Fataki, in the territory of Djugu in Ituri. This Monday, December 16, will remain etched in the memory of the inhabitants, as three members of the same family were savagely killed and two others seriously injured in a brutal machete attack.

Local witnesses report that armed militiamen violently entered the victims’ home, firing shots at random, sowing terror and death in their wake. The screams of terror and the sound of weapons echoed in the peaceful air of this once peaceful village, plunging the inhabitants into anguish and fear.

The victims, including a 32-year-old woman, were rushed to a medical center in Fataki to receive intensive care. Despite the efforts of medical teams, the health condition of the injured remains critical, plunging the community into worry and uncertainty.
