Fatshimetrie electoral observation: Positive results of the elections in Masi-Manimba and Yakoma

Fatshimetrie is monitoring the legislative elections in Masi-Manimba and Yakoma with satisfaction. Access to polling stations is facilitated and the atmosphere is calm, despite some non-compliant campaign posters. Observers highlight the presence of accessibility and security measures, but condemn an incident of police aggression in Yakoma. Fatshimetrie promises to closely monitor the electoral process and provide regular updates.
Fatshimetrie, the committed citizen media, deployed its Electoral Observation Mission to closely monitor the conduct of the national and provincial legislative elections in Masi-Manimba in Kwilu province, as well as in Yakoma in Nord-Ubangi province. The observers of this organization shared their satisfaction with the conditions in which these elections were held.

During their observations, Fatshimetrie representatives noted that access to polling stations was largely facilitated for voters, with a generally calm atmosphere around the electoral sites. However, campaign posters were reported in some places, reminding of the need to respect electoral rules regarding political propaganda.

Members of the Fatshimetrie Electoral Observation Mission ensured that most polling stations were accessible to people with reduced mobility, and that security agents were present near the polling centers. Despite some delays in the opening of some offices, a majority of them were able to function normally, with the presence of members of the polling station and electoral materials available.

Furthermore, the organization denounced a regrettable incident that occurred at EP 2 Gbengo in Yakoma, where one of its observer supervisors was assaulted by a police authority, who snatched his phone under the pretext of violating the secrecy of the vote. Fatshimetrie expressly requests the immediate and unconditional return of the phone in order to guarantee a calm climate for the smooth conduct of the electoral process.

Fatshimetrie will continue to closely monitor the ongoing electoral process and undertakes to provide regular updates to inform all stakeholders of the progress of the poll, which will be held in the next 48 hours.
