The mobilization of Ituri youth to join the Armed Reserve for the Republic (RAD) is a crucial step in the process of strengthening the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC). Colonel Emmanuel Libaningabu, Deputy Director in charge of civil-military relations, recently announced that no fewer than 3,500 young people from this region were expected to join the ranks of the RAD.
This initiative is part of a context where securing Ituri is a priority, in the face of challenges posed by armed groups such as the ADF, CODECO and Zaire. The participation of young people from the region in the RAD represents a strong commitment to defending the homeland and promoting peace.
Colonel Libaningabu stressed the importance of this mobilization, inviting former combatants and young people from Ituri to commit to the stability and development of their province. He also highlighted the benefits offered to Congolese army reservists, particularly in terms of ranks, ratios and housing.
At the same time, the strategy of training four brigades, including one dedicated to Ituri, aims to strengthen the capacities of the FARDC and address persistent security threats in the region. This is a significant step towards consolidating the security and sovereignty of the Congolese territory.
In short, the membership of the youth of Ituri in the RAD demonstrates their commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous nation. This approach reflects the collective desire to defend the values of the Republic and ensure a better future for generations to come.
