Together against violence against women in the workplace: Awareness and mobilization by REFEC

Fatshimetrie: Forward for Awareness against violence against women in the workplace

Fatshimetrie, as a publication committed to promoting gender equality and combating violence against women, is pleased to highlight a major initiative in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Congolese Business Women’s Network (REFEC) is mobilizing to raise awareness and take action against gender-based violence in the workplace.

On December 13, in the multipurpose room of the Post Office, women leaders from REFEC and Congolese economic actors will participate in a morning of awareness and reflection. This meeting aims to highlight the different forms of violence against women in the workplace, often unknown or minimized, and to discuss possible solutions to prevent and combat them.

At the heart of the discussions will be the need to promote safe and respectful work environments for all. The consequences of gender-based violence on women, their well-being and their careers, will be addressed in order to better understand the issues specific to the Congolese context.

REFEC will take advantage of this platform to carry out advocacy actions with the authorities and companies. The objective is to raise awareness among decision-makers and promote a culture of equality and respect within professional structures.

The support of the French Embassy for this initiative underlines the importance given to the fight against violence against women in the DR Congo. By joining forces, REFEC and its partners are committed to making the prevention of gender-based violence a national priority.

Fatshimetrie welcomes this initiative and encourages everyone to support actions aimed at transforming workspaces into inclusive places, where dignity and equality are fundamental values. Awareness-raising and mobilization of all are essential to building a future where violence against women will no longer be tolerated.

Together, let’s commit to a fairer, safer and more respectful professional world for everyone. Gender equality is a daily struggle, and it is by uniting our voices and actions that we can create lasting change.

Feel free to share this article to help raise awareness among more and more people about the importance of combating violence against women in the workplace. Join the movement, together we can make a difference.
