Local development remains a crucial issue for many regions, and the Kulu and Kasenga Numbi groups in Maniema province are no exception to this reality. Unfortunately, these two entities are struggling to see the Local Development Program of 145 Territories (PDL145T) come to fruition, leaving residents in a worrying situation.
In a recent interview with Fatshimetrie, Musubi Matabu, president of the local civil society, highlighted the difficulties faced by the populations of Kulu and Kasenga. The lack of adequate school and health infrastructure stands out as one of the main problems. Indeed, the local hospital is under-equipped and poorly built, hindering access to essential health care for residents. In addition, agricultural service roads are deficient, complicating the evacuation of agricultural products to market centers.
Musubi Matabu’s concerns do not stop there. It highlights the difficulties of access to drinking water and the precarious schooling conditions of children, thus signaling a set of challenges to be overcome in these groups. Faced with these major challenges, the appeal is launched to the provincial authorities for increased support for these populations, in particular by providing the local hospital with the necessary equipment, in line with the development project of 145 territories.
It is imperative that the authorities become aware of the urgency of the situation and act decisively to meet the essential needs of the inhabitants of Kulu and Kasenga. Investment in basic infrastructure such as schools, health centers and quality roads is not only necessary to improve the living conditions of citizens, but also to promote the economic and social development of the region.
Ultimately, the realization of PDL145T in the Kulu and Kasenga Numbi groups is of capital importance for the advancement and well-being of these populations. It is time to act in a concerted and effective manner to guarantee a better future for all the inhabitants of these entities, ensuring that the promises of local development translate into tangible and lasting realities.
