The recent meeting between Martin Fayulu and Moïse Katumbi in Genval, Belgium, raised high expectations and questions. The two political leaders discussed common strategies to strengthen their action against the dictatorship in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Devos Kitoko, Secretary General of Ecidé, expressed optimism about the outcome of this meeting. The joint declaration previously signed by the secretaries general of ECIDE, Ensemble and PPRD, rejecting any initiative to amend the Constitution, demonstrates their determination to preserve democratic achievements and fight against any form of authoritarian drift.

It demonstrates the willingness of political actors to unite to confront the challenges that stand in the way of democracy.
