Fatshimetrie: The tragedy at Collège Saint Léon in Mbuji-Mayi shakes the educational community
The educational community of Mbuji-Mayi is plunged into mourning and sadness following the tragedy that occurred at Collège Saint Léon. On Saturday, November 30, a school trip that should have been a source of learning and discovery turned into a tragedy, forever marking the life of this educational institution.
The story of the accident is poignant: during an educational excursion, a slab collapsed into the Lubilanji River in Tshala, taking with it several students. While some were rescued, two young lives were unfortunately lost, Giresse Tshibemba Mukendi and Mbiya Tshimanga Ephraim. The disappearance of Tshisekedi Mbuyi and Ngabu Kajingu, still missing, leaves a feeling of anguish and dismay within the school community.
Faced with this tragedy, parents, teachers and school authorities are united in grief. Days go by, but the doors of Collège Saint Léon remain closed, bearing witness to the grief that grips its members. Solidarity and mutual support are at the heart of every gesture, every word exchanged during this painful period.
The shockwave of this tragedy has spread beyond the walls of the school, affecting the entire city of Mbuji-Mayi and beyond. Questions are numerous, minds are looking for answers, but for now, it is meditation and support for the bereaved families that prevail.
In these dark times, the educational community of Mbuji-Mayi finds in unity and solidarity the strength to overcome the incomprehensible. The lessons of this tragedy are bitter, but they strengthen the will to protect and accompany each student on the path to knowledge and fulfillment.
The light will eventually pierce the darkness that envelops the Collège Saint Léon in Mbuji-Mayi. In the meantime, it is in unity and mutual support that the educational community draws its strength to face adversity and heal its wounds.
In each upset look, in each gesture of comfort, resonates the hope that the future will be more lenient, safer, so that never again will such a tragedy darken the daily lives of those who aspire to learn, grow and flourish within the Collège Saint Léon.
