Fatshimetrie, October 29, 2024 – A major event has just marked the digital entrepreneurial landscape in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with the launch of the “Digital Women Entrepreneur Award”. This call for applications, which will take place from November 1 to 16, aims to highlight and reward women who excel in the digital field in the DRC.
The initiator of this event is Arnold Vanda, Managing Director of the agency “Publisika consulting”, which aims to support and promote women intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs in the sector. The choice to dedicate this award to the late Sophie Madeleine Kanza, a pioneer in her field, is a vibrant tribute to this inspiring figure who paved the way for many generations of women.
It is undeniable that women are taking up more and more space in the digital sector in the DRC, thus shaking up traditional patterns where men largely dominated. This first edition of the “Digital Women Entrepreneur Prize Kinshasa 2024” will highlight four distinct categories: the Digital Entrepreneurs Kinshasa 2024, the Digital Intrapreneurs Kinshasa 2024, the Future Digital Women Entrepreneurs 2024 and the Digital Innovation Favorite of the Local Development Program of the 145 Territories (PDL-145).
The winners of this prize will benefit from a growth acceleration and business development program over a period of six months, offering them personalized support to help their projects blossom and contribute significantly to the country’s economy.
This initiative, led by Publisika consulting in partnership with the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, the Industry Promotion Funds (Anapi) and Kinshasa City Hall, aims to encourage diversity in science and technology, inspire future generations and promote the role of women in the digital sector.
The “Digital Entrepreneurial Woman Award” is therefore a real springboard for the emancipation and recognition of women entrepreneurs in a constantly evolving field, where innovation and diversity of ideas are essential drivers of progress. This initiative promises to actively contribute to the emergence of a dynamic and inclusive digital ecosystem in the DRC.
