The Chairman of the Egyptian Medicines Authority (EDA), Ali al-Ghamrawy, recently spoke of “promising” investment prospects in Egypt’s pharmaceutical sector. The Authority’s aim is to support industrial localization programs and encourage local and international investments.

In a recent meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Drug Information Association (DIA), Marwan Fathallah, Ali al-Ghamrawy discussed bilateral cooperation in various fields, with a focus on capacity building, development, pharmaceutical manufacturing and sector policies. The meeting also discussed capacity development opportunities through the organization of specialized training programs in the fields of pharmacovigilance, good manufacturing practices and clinical studies.

This meeting took place on the sidelines of the Drug Information Association (DIA) conference for the Middle East and North Africa, which was held in Egypt from 26 to 27 November 2024. The DIA aims to create an effective environment for all stakeholders to share the challenges facing the future of the pharmaceutical industry, agree on realistic scenarios and discuss the best ways to work together to find innovative solutions.
