Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka
Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka’s recent service mission to Goma and Bunia generated keen interest in assessing the state of siege declared by President Felix Tshisekedi in May 2021. This assessment tour was marked by meetings with key stakeholders in these two regions, such as provincial deputies, traditional leaders, representatives of civil society and the Head of MONUSCO, Bintou Keïta.

The objective of this mission was to take stock of the successes and failures of the system put in place during the state of siege, while identifying the priority security challenges in these areas. The discussions during these meetings allowed the delegation led by the Prime Minister to gather crucial information to better understand the situation on the ground.

Furthermore, President Felix Tshisekedi’s renewed support for a possible referendum to amend the constitution in Kalemie has sparked debate within the political class and civil society. This approach, considered a key step for the institutional future of the country, highlights the importance of involving the Congolese people in this decision-making process.

At the same time, the launch of the operation to issue biometric driving licenses in Kinshasa by Deputy Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Bemba is a significant step forward in improving road safety in the Congolese capital. Success in the theoretical and practical exams will be a sine qua non condition for obtaining this precious sesame, thus guaranteeing a better quality of drivers on the roads.

In a context where the security and stability of the country are major issues, these various government initiatives and actions demonstrate the will of the Congolese authorities to improve the situation in the country. It is crucial to closely monitor the progress of these projects and their impact on the population in order to guarantee a better future for the Democratic Republic of Congo.
