Fight against crime in Lubumbashi: President Tshisekedi’s measures

Fatshimetrie has published an in-depth report on the crime situation in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. President Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo recently expressed his concern at the 23rd meeting of the Council of Ministers, highlighting the increase in crime in the city and its surroundings.

Criminal acts such as armed robbery, extortion and murder are on the rise, threatening the safety of residents. The Head of State called for new strategies to combat this scourge, involving sectoral authorities and intelligence services.

In this context, collaboration between the Governor of Haut-Katanga, security and justice officials, as well as law enforcement is crucial to ensure the protection of Lubumbashi citizens. President Tshisekedi tasked the relevant ministers to design and deploy an effective strategy to restore state authority and combat crime in the region.

While Lubumbashi was experiencing a certain calm, recent cases of crime in neighborhoods such as the annex commune and peripheral areas require a rapid and coordinated response from the authorities to preserve the safety of residents.

The challenge is therefore considerable, but the determination displayed by President Tshisekedi and his government shows a willingness to face this threat to guarantee the peace and security of the citizens of Lubumbashi and its surroundings.

Fatshimetrie continues to closely monitor the evolution of the situation and remains committed to informing the public on the measures taken to counter crime in this strategic region of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
