Fatshimétrie: Crossed perspectives on the celebration of children’s rights
November 20, 2024 marks an important moment in the history of the protection of children’s rights around the world. On this day, we commemorate the 35th anniversary of the signing of the International Conference on the Rights of the Child. It is an opportunity for UNICEF and other committed organizations to highlight the progress made, the persistent challenges and the aspirations of children around the world.
Fatshimétrie undertook an exploration at the heart of this theme, by traveling to different regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The magazine wanted to offer an authentic look at the reality of children’s rights in the country, highlighting both the progress made and the obstacles to overcome.
During this journey, Fatshimétrie journalists met children, families, educators, children’s rights activists and government representatives. Through these encounters, poignant stories emerged, testifying both to the resilience of children in the face of difficulties and to their thirst for justice and dignity.
