The Leopards A’ team of the Democratic Republic of Congo recently concluded an intense first phase of preparation for the crucial double confrontation against the Sao of Chad for the qualifications for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024. It was a training camp marked by hard work and a clear will on the part of the players, supervised by Otis Ngoma and his assistant Rafael Hamidi. The main objective was to build the cohesion and homogeneity necessary to guarantee the success of the team.
Under the leadership of Ngoma, a young and ambitious selection was put in place, demonstrating a desire to build a new generation of talents. During two internal matches played during the training camp, the staff was able to assess the profiles of the players and guide themselves towards the choices to be made to face Chad in December. However, reinforcements are expected to strengthen certain sectors of the team, in particular players from AS Maniema Union who were unable to participate in the training camp.
Otis Ngoma expressed satisfaction with the course, stressing the importance of cohesion and teamwork. The players showed great determination to progress and establish themselves in the team, which suggests a solid foundation for the future. Ngoma emphasizes the importance of learning and improving for each player, with the aim of raising the level of the collective team.
This preparation course has helped to lay a solid foundation for the rest of the CHAN 2024 qualifiers. Ngoma is confident about the head start acquired by the team for the next phase of preparation which will take place in Yaoundé in December. The Leopards A’ are the favorites in this confrontation against Chad, recalling their success in previous editions of the CHAN.
This new generation of players aims to restore the national team’s image after a disappointing participation in the previous CHAN in Algeria. Determination and ambition are there to reach a historic 7th participation in a CHAN final phase. After past disappointments, the players are ready to give their all to shine on the continental stage and honor the national colors.
In summary, the Leopards A’ of the DRC are on the right track for a great adventure at CHAN 2024, carried by a new generation of talented players determined to make history in Congolese football.
