On December 3, the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa will be the scene of a memorable meeting between world football legends and influential figures to celebrate the end of 2024. This event, called “Kinshasa solidaire 2024”, is an initiative led by the Variétés Club France and supported by the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Tshisekedi.

At the heart of this celebration is a noble objective: to offer a moment of joy and sharing to the children victims of the war in North Kivu. More than a hundred of these children, displaced due to the conflicts raging in the east of the DRC, will be specially invited to attend a football match between former French and Congolese footballers. A unique opportunity for these young people to have fun, to share moments of complicity and hope with legendary football personalities.

Aurélien Logeais, the instigator of this event, expresses his altruistic vision: “This match is a symbol of peace. Many players and personalities will join this meeting for peace and in support of the children of Goma. We will welcome 100 children from the East and honor them at the Martyrs stadium. The funds raised during this event will be used to help displaced people by providing them with food and other supplies on site in Goma.”

Among the expected emblematic figures, we find prestigious names such as Fally Ipupa, Samuel Eto’o, Robert Pirès, Christian Karembeu, Ludovic Giuly, and Marius Trésor. These icons of sport and music are mobilizing to offer a moment of comfort and solidarity to those who need it most.

Aziz Makukula, ambassador of Congolese football, underlines the importance of this event for the image and unity of the country: “Let us be patriots, let us show the world the strength and beauty of the DRC. By bringing smiles back to the faces of these children of Goma, we are participating in the progress of our nation.”

Beyond the football match, educational workshops will be set up to promote values such as education, gender equality in sport, sports journalism and the role of sport in social cohesion. These initiatives aim to encourage learning, recognition of female talent, media awareness and civic involvement through sport.

“Fatshimetrie”, an event that goes beyond simple sports entertainment to become a vector of solidarity, peace and inspiration for all.
