Fatshimetrie, November 8, 2024 – The fight against crime remains at the heart of the concerns of the authorities of the province of Maniema, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Indeed, fifteen individuals allegedly involved in armed robberies were apprehended by the police and presented to the provincial authority during a solemn ceremony at the central tribune of Kindu.
This operation, led by the Provincial Police Station of the Congolese National Police, is part of a vast campaign aimed at stemming the resurgence of criminal acts perpetrated by delinquents in the various districts of the city of Kindu. General Elvis Palanga Nawej, Provincial Commissioner of the PNC/Maniema, stressed the importance of collaboration between the population and the police in the fight against crime.
The governor of the province, Moise Musa Kabwankubi, welcomed the results obtained and assured the population of Kindu of his commitment to restore peace and security throughout the province. He also called on residents to be vigilant and to report any suspicious acts to the competent authorities.
The ceremony to present these individuals presumed guilty took place in the presence of urban authorities and the local population. These individuals will be brought before the judicial authorities to answer for their actions and face the full force of the law.
