General Assembly of Justice in Kinshasa: For an ambitious reform of the Congolese judicial system

The Estates General of Justice in Kinshasa, led by the Minister of Justice Constant Mutamba, aims to deeply reform the Congolese judicial system. This event brings together more than 3,500 participants to discuss current issues and seek innovative solutions. The objective is to guarantee equitable access to justice, strengthen the independence of judicial institutions and place the citizen at the heart of the system. These meetings offer the opportunity to rethink the foundations of justice for a common vision: equitable, transparent and effective justice for all in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The holding of the States General of Justice in Kinshasa, under the leadership of the Minister of Justice, Constant Mutamba, is currently attracting the attention and anticipation of many observers. Announced to take place from November 6 to 13 at the Financial Center of the Congolese capital, this initiative aims to outline a new national policy on justice.

During his speech at a press conference, Constant Mutamba clearly expressed his ambition to thoroughly review the Congolese judicial system. The justice reform adopted in 2015 will thus be examined closely during these meetings, in order to assess the progress, shortcomings and difficulties encountered. It is notably emphasized that of the 350 resolutions adopted, only a hundred have actually been implemented, thus highlighting the challenges to be met.

The stakes of these States General are significant, since they will bring together more than 3,500 participants representing various sectors of society. This diversity promises rich and varied exchanges, allowing to approach from different angles the current problems of justice in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
