Fatshimetrie, October 31, 2024 – This Wednesday, the city of Kisangani experienced a historic moment with the investiture of the provincial government of Tshopo, located in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The ceremony took place during a plenary session of the Provincial Assembly of Tshopo, chaired by its honorable president.
The strongman of the province, Paulin Lengodolia, took the floor to present the quantified action program of his government. This program, the result of in-depth reflection, was unanimously adopted by the provincial deputies. With determination, the governor expressed his faith in the effectiveness of his team to implement the planned actions. “Tshopo mosala” is the slogan chosen to embody the vision of this government.
The carefully developed action program covers various key sectors for the development of the province. Significant investments will be made in the areas of infrastructure and opening up, environment and climate change, human capital and basic social services, as well as economic governance, natural capital and finance.
This ambitious plan is deployed through 27 strategic axes, including 170 actions and 412 specific activities. A substantial budget of 3784 billion 571 million 77 thousand Congolese francs, or the equivalent of 1 billion 262 million 523 thousand US dollars, has been allocated to implement these initiatives.
This inauguration thus marks the beginning of a new era for the province of Tshopo, with challenges to be met, projects to be implemented and a common vision to pursue. The commitment of the government and the support of the population will be essential to successfully carry out this ambitious roadmap. Through these actions, Tshopo is equipping itself with the necessary means to build a better future for its inhabitants and ensure its sustainable development.
This investiture is therefore the starting point of a collective adventure, where each actor, from the governor to the citizens, has a crucial role to play in ensuring the prosperity and well-being of the province. The road ahead will be strewn with pitfalls, but it is through unity and determination that Tshopo will be able to overcome obstacles and achieve its objectives. In this article, I have attempted to highlight the importance of the investiture of the Tshopo provincial government, by highlighting the issues and challenges it will have to face. I have also highlighted the ambitious vision carried by this government, as well as the substantial financial resources allocated to it to implement its action program.. Finally, I stressed the importance of the commitment of all stakeholders, from the governor to the citizens, to ensure the success of this collective enterprise.
