This decision, announced by the Ministry of Transport, Communication Routes and Access, aims to improve traffic flow and ensure better mobility within the Congolese capital.
According to information provided by the National Road Safety Commission (CNPR), this experimental operation will begin on Monday, October 28, 2024. Five strategic avenues in Kinshasa have been selected for this trial, namely Lumumba, Nguma, Mondjiba, Les Écuries and Météo avenues. These roads have been identified as being particularly sensitive to congestion and congestion problems, hence the need to introduce specific measures to regulate traffic.
At the initiative of the government and under the supervision of the Kinshasa city police, this alternation operation aims to encourage citizens to adopt new road behaviors and to comply with the traffic rules in place.
