The training in nutrition and dietetics in Eastern Congo is the result of a fruitful collaboration between the Asbl Foyer de développement and the collective of dieticians of Congo. For one month, 78 specialists followed an accelerated training, focused on the prevention of diseases through diet. The presentation of the certificates marks the end of this crucial stage which aims to strengthen the skills of the participants and equip them so that they can not only take charge of their health, but also consider entrepreneurial opportunities.

The objective of this training is multiple: it is not only to raise awareness among participants about the nutritional aspects essential for their well-being, but also to train them on financial management and entrepreneurship. Indeed, the concepts acquired during this month of training allow participants to engage in entrepreneurial activities related to the processing of agri-food products, the creation of catering services or the manufacture of chemical and agri-food products.

John Shamba Badibanga, trainer, underlines the importance of this training in the fight against unemployment and the promotion of self-care. The success of this initiative is palpable, with concrete testimonies from participants who have already put into practice the skills acquired. 1427 trained in total, with a positive impact on the community, whether through the creation of jobs or the healing of people thanks to a healthier and more balanced diet.

The presence of Mrs. Blandine Ngondu, mayor of the commune of Kanshi, at the ceremony of awarding the certificates testifies to the interest shown by the local authorities in this type of initiative. This practical and concrete training offers young entrepreneurs an opportunity to stand out and actively contribute to local development.

In short, training in nutrition and dietetics in Eastern Congo represents a real lever for social and economic transformation. By strengthening the skills of nutrition specialists, it offers them the opportunity to become key players in the promotion of public health and the development of their community. A commendable initiative, which demonstrates the importance of education and training in building a better future for all.
