The Minister of National Economy, Daniel Mukoko Samba, recently signed an order directly impacting the daily lives of Lubumbashi residents. Indeed, a downward revision of the prices of petroleum products was announced, leading to a significant decrease in the cost of gasoline and diesel in the city.

Now, the price of a liter of gasoline has gone from 4,165 to 3,856 Congolese francs, while that of diesel has gone from 4,395 to 3,923 Congolese francs. This measure, welcomed by many users, has helped relieve taxi, taxi-bus, motorcycle and tricycle drivers, as well as individuals who refuel. Contrary to initial fears, no fuel shortages have been observed at the city’s gas stations.

Gas station managers confirmed that the fuel supply has been smooth since the ministerial order came into force. Blaise Katalay, manager of the United Petroleum station, shared his positive testimony, emphasizing that the lower prices have helped facilitate transactions, without causing endless queues.

This decision taken by the Minister of National Economy has been widely appreciated by the local population, who see this price drop as a welcome breath of fresh air in a sometimes difficult economic context. As a result, the inhabitants of Lubumbashi now benefit from a significant reduction in the costs associated with their travel, which helps to lighten their daily budget.

This government initiative demonstrates the importance of the measures taken to improve the purchasing power of citizens and promote the economic development of the country’s cities. By offering a more favorable context for users, the downward revision of fuel prices in Lubumbashi is a concrete action with a direct impact on the quality of life of the local population.
