Kinshasa’s financial ambitions for 2025: an ambitious development plan

Fatshimetrie, the essential news platform, was a privileged witness to the launch of the work to develop the draft budget edict for the 2025 financial year for the city of Kinshasa. Under the aegis of the Minister of Planning, Budget, Employment and Tourism of the province of Kinshasa, Jésus Noël Sheke, this crucial step aims to outline the financial and economic contours of the Congolese capital for the coming year.

At the heart of this approach is the desire to define the main guidelines for public spending, as well as to anticipate the revenues needed to achieve Kinshasa’s ambitions for the year 2025. This work is of capital importance in a context marked by major security issues, such as Rwanda’s aggression in the eastern part of the country.

In his speech, Jesus Noel Sheke stressed the importance of this work in the current national context, marked by diplomatic initiatives aimed at pacifying the eastern region of the DRC, affected by persistent conflicts. These pacification efforts are part of the state of siege established in the provinces of North Kivu and Ituri, reflecting the desire for stability and prosperity for the entire country.

The work to develop the draft budget edict for the 2025 financial year of Kinshasa is thus an essential step in the planning and implementation of the city’s public policies. By defining a solid financial plan adapted to the challenges of the moment, Kinshasa is giving itself the means to realize its ambitions for development and prosperity for its inhabitants.

At the same time, the Kinshasa Provincial Government unveiled an ambitious action program for the period 2024-2028, requiring an investment of around 10.9 billion US dollars. This desire for massive investment demonstrates the authorities’ determination to meet the challenges and offer a promising future to the Congolese capital.

Thus, through these budgetary works and development projects, Kinshasa is fully committed to a dynamic of growth and innovation, aimed at strengthening its attractiveness and offering new perspectives to its inhabitants. With a clear vision and substantial resources, the city of Kinshasa is positioning itself as a major player in economic and social development in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
