Ahead of the event, Tyty Lufinku, General Director of the Zoo Cultural Center, initiated discussions with school leaders in Kinshasa. This approach aims to actively involve students in this cultural adventure by providing them with everything they need to fully experience this cinematographic experience.
In addition to film screenings, Sefico’s program will offer young participants workshops and educational activities. These sessions will introduce them to the different stages of filmmaking, from scriptwriting to editing, including filming. A unique opportunity for these future film enthusiasts to discover the backstage and know-how of the seventh art.
Debates led by Congolese cinema professionals will enrich the Sefico program. The history of Congolese cinema, its challenges and its future will be at the center of the discussions, thus offering a fascinating dive into the cinematographic heritage of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Through this event, Sefico aims to highlight Congolese culture from a new angle, by exploring various themes such as history, traditions, social issues and many other aspects of Congolese society.
