President Tshisekedi’s visit to Kisangani: A historic moment for the Tshopo province

Fatshimetrie, October 23, 2024 edition – There was excitement this morning in Kisangani as the local population gathered en masse on the post office esplanade to welcome the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi. The Head of State is currently on a traveling mission in the Tshopo province, in order to assess the government programs in progress, their progress and to consider possible necessary corrections.

Giscard Kusema, director of the presidential press, stressed the importance of this approach which aims to directly present the achievements and projects of the central government to the local population. As part of his visit, President Tshisekedi will inaugurate the Bangboka international airport, a major infrastructure for the region.

The esplanade of the post office vibrated to the rhythm of songs and welcoming messages from supporters of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS) and other political parties that are members of the Sacred Union of the Nation. Citizen movements and women’s associations were also present to express their support and encouragement to the President and his action in favor of the Tshopo province.

This visit is not limited to celebrations, it also offers the Head of State the opportunity to meet the local population and listen to their concerns. An exceptional council of ministers will also be chaired by Félix Tshisekedi in Kisangani, thus underlining the importance given to this region and his desire to act in the interest of all Congolese citizens.

The enthusiasm and enthusiasm observed today in Kisangani testify to the hope and confidence placed in the action of President Tshisekedi. This roaming mission represents a unique opportunity to strengthen ties between the central government and the different provinces of the country, in an approach of transparency, listening and progress for all.
