Ben Iloanusi: Nigeria Railways’ New Visionary Leader
The Nigerian railway sector is currently undergoing a transformation with the appointment of Ben Iloanusi as the Acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC). After the successful tenure of Fidet Okhiria, it is now Ben Iloanusi’s turn to take the reins and steer the organization to new horizons.
Ben Iloanusi, an accomplished and experienced executive with NRC since 2011, has had a remarkable rise within the company. With a degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an MBA in International Management from London South Bank University, he has the skills and expertise to successfully lead NRC.
In his farewell address, Fidet Okhiria expressed gratitude to the entire NRC team for their support during his tenure. He called on employees to extend the same level of cooperation and understanding to his successor. For his part, Ben Iloanusi pledged to be a listening leader, ready to receive constructive criticism to move the organization forward effectively.

Ben Iloanusi has the heavy responsibility of continuing the reforms undertaken by his predecessor and putting in place new innovative strategies to meet the current and future challenges of rail transport in the country.
Through his vision and determination, Ben Iloanusi embodies the spirit of leadership needed to guide the NRC towards a prosperous future. His ability to mobilize and inspire his team, combined with his strong expertise and strategic vision, make him a key player in the transformation of the Nigerian railway sector.
