Francisco Udofia Foundation Africa (FUFAFRICA), a non-profit organization, recently initiated a hygiene awareness campaign among students of Uyo Secondary School in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The aim of the event was to teach the youth the basics of hygiene to help them stay healthy, including the importance of regular hand washing and keeping their surroundings clean.
FUFAFRICA founder Francisco Udofia, during a press conference, emphasized that the initiative was aimed at educating the youth on the importance of hygiene for their well-being. He also revealed that his foundation is running the project in collaboration with the Big Heart-Great Impact Foundation and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Francisco Udofia stressed: “FUFAFRICA is a non-profit organization, focused on education, healthcare, and the empowerment of women and girls. Today, we are here to educate the youth on the basics of hygiene.”
He explained that his foundation has been carrying out various activities in the six states of the South West region, but it was time to focus on Akwa Ibom State and the Niger Delta region, where he hails from. He stressed that his goal was to extend this project to all public secondary schools in the state.
On the schools already reached by this project in the state, Francisco Udofia said: “Our goal is to visit all public secondary schools located in the 31 administrative zones of the state. We want to reach all the students to sensitize them on the importance of hygiene. This is a long-term project aimed at positively influencing the youth.”
This hygiene awareness initiative led by FUFAFRICA at Uyo High School illustrates the importance of education on hygiene practices for the well-being of young people. By sensitizing young people from an early age, this action contributes to promoting a healthier society that is more aware of the importance of hygiene to prevent diseases and improve the quality of life for all.
FUFAFRICA and its partners are thus playing a crucial role in educating and sensitizing the younger generations, encouraging them to adopt hygienic behaviors that will have a positive impact on their health and well-being in the long term.
