Fatshimetrie, October 18, 2024 – A light of hope shines in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, as an organization committed to the fight against abuse, is calling for multidimensional support to help young people addicted to drugs. At the heart of this initiative, the NGO Minzoto, headquartered in a military camp, is launching an urgent appeal to the Congolese government for financial, logistical, therapeutic, and other support in the fight against substance abuse.
Ms. Delphine, President of the NGO, stressed the urgency of the situation, highlighting the growing number of young addicts in Camp Kokolo, thus fueling the Kuluna phenomenon. This reality constitutes a real challenge for order and security in this environment where discipline should prevail.
Drugs, a real scourge, represent a constant danger for these young people, not only for their physical health but also for their future. Ms. Nzuzi, spokesperson for the NGO, calls on the individual responsibility of these young people, urging them to give up the consumption of illicit substances to preserve their well-being.
Engaged in awareness-raising actions, the NGO Minzoto is mobilizing to prevent the risks associated with drug addiction, aware of the youth in search of reference points in the DRC. Its main objective is to supervise and support these young people in difficulty, by offering them psychological, educational, spiritual and therapeutic support through services such as counseling sessions and a detoxification center.
Founded in 2016, this organization embodies the hope of a better future for Congolese youth, by providing them with the necessary tools to flourish in society. They work to transform these young people into agents of change, ready to contribute positively to their community.
In these difficult times, when drugs threaten to decimate an already vulnerable youth, the commitment of the NGO Minzoto illustrates an act of courage and dedication towards those who need it most. With adequate support and appropriate care, these young people will be able to free themselves from the destructive grip of drugs and embrace a bright future. Thus, each step towards recovery represents a step closer to a promising future for Congolese youth.
