Fatshimétrie, October 17, 2024 – The General Inspectorate of the National Police of the Democratic Republic of Congo (IGPNC) is currently engaged in a large-scale awareness campaign aimed at clarifying its missions and clearly distinguishing those of the PNC General Commissariat. Since the launch of this initiative last February, the IGPNC has made it a point of honor to remove any ambiguity and confusion surrounding its attributions, as underlined by Divisional Commissioner Jolly Limbengo, Deputy Inspector General in charge of support and management, upon his return from the provinces of South Kivu and North Kivu.
As part of this campaign, Jolly Limbengo insisted to the police inspectors on the importance of selling an irreproachable image of the institution. He urged them to raise awareness among the population, fight against anti-values and promote human rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo. “We must wake up, we must work. We do not tolerate anti-values. Your mission is clear: to bring order and enforce the laws and regulations of the PNC,” he insisted.
Beyond these awareness-raising objectives, the General Inspectorate of the Police has the essential mission of ensuring the strict application of the laws and regulations of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The current campaign thus aims to strengthen the commitment of police inspectors in carrying out their missions and to guarantee a secure environment that respects the rights of all citizens.
In conclusion, the IGPNC awareness-raising campaign illustrates the firm commitment of the Congolese authorities to promote integrity, transparency and respect for fundamental rights within the police force. Through clear communication and concrete actions on the ground, the General Inspectorate of the Police actively contributes to improving security and justice in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
