Significant Progress in Combating Insecurity in Nigeria: A Renewed Hope

Nigeria’s security environment has recently witnessed significant advances thanks to the combined efforts of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Minister of Defence Bello Matawalle. The Coalition of Northern Civil Society Organisations (COSCN) has commended Ribadu’s integrated strategy, combining military, political and socio-economic initiatives to address insecurity in the northern part of the country.

This innovative approach was warmly applauded by the coalition, which also lauded Matawalle’s leadership for instilling renewed hope in the troubled regions. His engagement with traditional leaders, community groups and civil society organisations was highlighted as key in the fight against banditry.

In a statement issued by the COSCN spokesperson, Alhaji Usman Usman, it was noted that Matawalle’s efforts have been instrumental in the fight against banditry. His leadership resulted in the elimination of the notorious terrorist leader Mai Hijabi, demonstrating Nigeria’s commitment to regional and international cooperation to combat insecurity.

COSCN called on Nigerians to support Ribadu and Matawalle, stressing the importance of community-driven initiatives and collaboration. Their efforts have given new hope for a safer Nigeria.
