Zaria-Kaduna Highway Tragedy: A Painful Loss and a Call for Road Safety

In a recent accident on the Zaria-Kaduna Expressway in Nigeria, several lives have been shattered. According to Kabir Nadabo, the Sector Commander of Kaduna State, contacted by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, a serious road accident took place at Lambar Zango along the Zaria-Kaduna Expressway, leading to tragic consequences.

Two persons were left unconscious following the road accident. Nadabo said the accident occurred at 6:15pm, involving a KIA vehicle travelling from Zaria to Kaduna. The right front wheel of the vehicle was completely blown off, causing the vehicle to lose control and roll over.

Three individuals were involved in the accident, all males. A team from RS1.17 Unit, Birnin Yero, rushed to the scene to provide rescue. However, it has been revealed that the son of the former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, was involved in the accident.

On arrival at the hospital, the son of the former governor was sadly pronounced dead, while the driver and the third passenger were still unconscious. This tragedy has deeply affected the community and the family of the victims.

Road accidents are unfortunately commonplace and this incident once again raises the need for increased awareness on road safety. Safe driving, respect for the rules of the road and vigilance are essential to prevent such tragedies.

This accident is a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of caring for each other on the roads. Hopefully, more measures will be taken to improve road safety and prevent such losses in the future.
