A 45-year-old man, named Kazeem, tragically lost his life after consuming a hard drug suspected to be Colorado. The circumstances of his death, which occurred after he jumped into a river, raise serious questions about the devastating effects of urban drug abuse.

The news of the tragedy was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He said the incident took place near the Alagbado Police Division on Friday at around 11am.

According to information gathered by the police, it appears that the victim, under the influence of drugs, lost all control and rushed into the Odo Tente River, on the Lagos-Ogun border. Unfortunately, before help could arrive, Kazeem reportedly drowned.

Once on the scene of the incident, investigators from the division documented the scene by taking photographs, while the victim’s lifeless body was recovered. Contacted by phone, Kazeem’s father reportedly requested that the body be immediately buried near the river, in accordance with family traditions.
