**Graduation Ceremony at the Higher Institute of Statistics of Kinshasa**
Last Saturday, the Higher Institute of Statistics of Kinshasa celebrated the graduation of 231 new graduates of the first session of the 2023-2024 academic year. This ceremony was marked by inspiring speeches by Professor Jean Marcel Mbikayi Mpanya, Director General of the institution, encouraging graduates to become ambassadors of the ISS-Kinshasa in their future professional careers.
Professor Mbikayi stressed the importance for these graduates to put into practice the knowledge acquired during their studies. He encouraged them to actively contribute to the development of the country through achievements and innovations in the various fields covered by the ISS-Kinshasa, such as statistics, transport sciences, management information technology, commercial and financial sciences, among others.
The theme of this ceremony, “Let’s consolidate our achievements”, was chosen to highlight ISS-Kinshasa’s commitment to contribute to the six major commitments of the Head of State’s social contract for his second term. Indeed, the institution is striving to strengthen the efficiency of public services by modernizing its infrastructure and training quality experts who will be able to meet the needs of the job market.
In an effort to adapt to current needs, ISS-Kinshasa recently introduced two new entrepreneurship programs: business management and work organization, as well as hygiene, safety and the environment. These programs aim to train competent professionals capable of providing innovative solutions in their respective fields.
The Director General also mentioned other advances made by ISS-Kinshasa, such as obtaining the decree on the co-organization of the doctoral school and the establishment of the differentiated evening shift for employed students.
