Kisangani, October 10, 2024 – The city of Kisangani, located in the heart of the Tshopo province in the Democratic Republic of Congo, was recently the scene of an important event: the swearing-in of twenty-three judicial police officers. This ceremony, which took place after four days of intensive training, marks a crucial step in strengthening law enforcement in the region.

The training, supervised by experts in criminal procedure and special criminal law, enabled participants to acquire the knowledge necessary to fully exercise their functions. The judicial police officers were also made aware of the ethics and principles of integrity that must guide their daily actions.

The provincial deputy of Tshopo, Ghislain Mogenya, stressed the importance of this training to ensure fair and effective justice. According to him, it is essential that judicial police officers act with loyalty, honesty and dedication to the society they serve.

For his part, the public prosecutor at the Yangambi High Court, Clément Bakari Ngoma, urged the newly sworn officers to demonstrate responsibility and scrupulously respect the law. He encouraged them to avoid any arbitrary behavior and to always transparently report their actions to the public prosecutor.

During the oath-taking, the representative of the governor of the Tshopo province reminded the judicial police officers of the importance of strictly complying with the constitution and faithfully fulfilling their missions. He also encouraged them to go beyond clan or tribal considerations to focus solely on the rigorous application of the law.

Finally, Ghislain Mogenya Baraka, elected representative of the Ubundu territory and instigator of this training, welcomed the commitment and assiduity of the participants. He expressed his confidence that this new generation of judicial police officers will demonstrate professionalism and impartiality in the exercise of their functions, thus contributing to strengthening the rule of law and security in the region.

This oath-taking marks the beginning of a new era for justice in Tshopo, where integrity, responsibility and respect for the law are at the heart of the action of judicial police officers. Through this training, these professionals are now better equipped to ensure strict compliance with the principles of justice and to contribute to building a more just and equitable society for all.
