**Fatshimetrie: A Reinforced Security Presence in Jos for the Plateau Elections**

On this crucial day of elections in the 17 government areas of Plateau, the city of Jos is under high surveillance, with an imposing presence of security forces to ensure the smooth conduct of the polls. Reports from our Fatshimetrie correspondent on the ground testify to the mobilization of members of the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigeria Civilian Security Corps, as well as military forces who have been deployed at strategic points.

The security forces are positioned around the polling stations, thus ensuring the security of citizens going to the polls. Ahead of the vote, the Police Command had already taken measures by restricting movement across the state to facilitate the smooth conduct of the electoral process.

The Police spokesperson, Mr. Alfred Alabo, affirmed that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure calm and security during the elections. “We have deployed our officers and men to all the zones. We have taken all necessary measures to ensure that the elections are conducted in peace and in compliance with the law. So far, everything is going peacefully, and we call on the people of Plateau to collaborate with the security forces in order to have a violence-free election,” Alabo said.

This increased presence of security forces in Jos underscores the importance given to security and stability during this crucial electoral process for Plateau. Citizens are called upon to exercise their right to vote in all serenity, in compliance with electoral rules and in a climate of peace and civility.
