At this crucial time for the development and unity of Nigeria, the Founder of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, has stressed the importance of constructive collaboration between opposition political parties and the Federal Government. Speaking at the NNPP’s 60th Independence Anniversary Stakeholders’ Meeting in Lagos, Dr. Aniebonam called for viable proposals and suggestions for the development of public policies that benefit all Nigerians.
In a speech that was filled with wisdom, the NNPP National Leader stressed that thoughtless criticism is not enough to solve the challenges facing Nigeria. He stressed that every political party in Nigeria has the responsibility to come up with constructive suggestions aimed at helping the country overcome its many obstacles.
He recalled: “The Federal Government is yet to achieve excellence in all areas, but it has made notable progress. Democracy allows for criticism, but it should not be used to divide the people and the government. Every Nigerian, including political parties, must put the interest of the nation above all else for us to progress. Divisive comments aimed at discrediting the President or inciting youths to violent protest only make matters worse.”
He also reiterated that the NNPP remains united and focused on the growth of the party, putting aside past divisions and looking to the future. Dr. Aniebonam stressed the need to provide constructive advice to the Federal Government when necessary, while supporting policies deemed beneficial to the country.
He concluded by urging those inciting Nigerian youths to protest to reconsider their position and work for the greater good. Violent protest will only harm all, and it is crucial for the future of the country to prioritise dialogue and collaboration to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for all its citizens.
Ultimately, Dr Aniebonam’s message resonates as a call for unity, accountability and finding constructive solutions for the common good of Nigeria. It is through mutual commitment and a collective will to overcome differences that the country can truly move towards a better future for all.
