Successful Inspection Operation: Fatshimetrie Seizes 241 Unauthorized Vehicles in Lagos

Fatshimetrie has conducted an unprecedented operation by seizing 241 unlicensed vehicles in a recent action by the Lagos State Vehicle Inspectorate. The major initiative, which is governed by the provisions of Sections 15 and 16 of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018, is aimed at ensuring compliance with transport regulations in the state.

The Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said the operation was aimed at putting an end to illegal practices and strengthening enforcement of transport laws in the area. Unregistered vehicles contravene the state’s transport regulations, thereby hampering law enforcement efforts to identify and track vehicles that are stolen or involved in criminal activities.

The use of fraudulent number plates was also reported, highlighting the need to combat the issuance of fake plates. The ongoing inspection is aimed at identifying the culprits and bringing them to justice for their wrongdoings.

The Commissioner called on motorists to strictly adhere to the state’s road traffic regulations. Compliance with these rules plays a vital role in achieving the government’s mission of ensuring a safe and secure environment for all road users.

By encouraging citizen cooperation and responsibility, Fatshimetrie is continuing its commitment to ensuring safety and compliance in the Lagos transport sector. This initiative demonstrates the state’s determination to enhance road safety standards and protect the interests of its citizens.
