**APC Campaign in Benue State: A Promise of Transparency and Victory**
Ahead of the upcoming local government elections in Benue State, Governor Hyacinth Alia has assured the people of a free, fair and credible process. At the launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign in Gboko, the Governor, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Sam Ode, stressed his commitment to providing a level playing field for all parties contesting the election.
He encouraged APC members to campaign vigorously to ensure the party’s victory. “The election will be free, fair and credible because we will ensure that we provide a level playing field for all parties to test their popularity. So, let us go out and campaign, sell our candidates to the people and ensure that the APC wins a resounding victory at the polls.”
The Governor presented 23 APC flags to the presidential candidates and their deputies, urging them to work with their people. The Chairman of the APC Interim Management Committee, Dr. Benjamin Omale, highlighted the vital role of the committee in resolving disputes between aspirants and party members.
He assured that the committee had ensured peace and stability in the party, calling on supporters to come out massively on October 5 and vote for all APC candidates for better service delivery and in the public interest.
In his welcome message, Senator Joseph Akaagerger said the people of Benue North East fully supported Governor Alia and would vote for all APC candidates. On his part, a notable of the APC in the North West District of Benue, Mr. Emmanuel Jime, noted that the people of the state elected Governor Alia “and that is why he is working for them. He is only doing what the voters asked him to do by implementing people-oriented projects and building human capacity.”
The Organizing Secretary of the APC, Mr. James Orgunga, affirmed that the party was ready for the elections, stressing that the APC would field candidates in all available chairmanships and councillorships. This statement underscores the party’s commitment to providing competent candidates to serve the people of the state.
In conclusion, the commitment of Governor Alia and the APC to ensure free and fair elections as well as providing competent candidates to serve the people is a significant step towards transparent and effective governance in Benue State. Voters will thus have the opportunity to choose leaders who will work for their welfare and development.
