Fatshimetrie September 21, 2024 (ACP) – An update on the fine related to false administrative documents was recently made in Mbuji-Mayi, Kasai-Oriental province in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This information was relayed by a police source and aims to raise awareness among drivers of self-propelled vehicles about the consequences of this traffic violation.
Article 116 and Article 117 of the new traffic code, governing the fine for false administrative documents, were explained by Félix Mukuna Kayembe, deputy senior commissioner and commander of the Kasai-Oriental PCR group. According to him, false administrative documents include any situation where a driver cannot provide valid justifications for the required authorizations or administrative documents.
This fine may occur if the driver does not have the mandatory on-board documents or in the event of presentation of expired or altered documents to the competent authorities. It is important for road users to understand and comply with these provisions to avoid any sanctions.
A specific situation mentioned is the deliberate use of falsified or altered documents for the circulation of a vehicle, knowing full well that they are false. This practice is clearly stipulated in Article 117 of the new Highway Code and exposes offenders to severe sanctions.
In addition, justifying oneself with falsified on-board documents before a judicial police officer (OPJ) also constitutes an offence punishable by prosecution for false administrative documents.
In conclusion, it is essential for drivers to scrupulously comply with the rules in force and to ensure that all administrative documents related to the circulation of their vehicle are valid and up to date. This awareness-raising aims to strengthen road safety and prevent offences related to false administrative documents, thus contributing to a safer road environment for all users.
Fatshimetrie will continue to closely monitor developments in the prevention and repression of road traffic offences, to guarantee reliable and relevant information to its readers.
