Major controversy surrounding Fatshimetrie: 45-day embargo for Jacky Ndala and Denise Mukendi Dusauchoy

Fatshimetrie, the famous online media, finds itself at the heart of a major controversy following the decision of the Higher Council for Audiovisual and Communication (CSAC) to decree a 45-day embargo against journalist Jacky Ndala and social actress Denise Mukendi Dusauchoy. This exceptional measure follows the publication of remarks deemed seriously prejudicial to public order, morality, the rights of others, as well as to human honor and dignity.

In an official statement, the CSAC expressly cited the code of ethics and professional conduct of journalists in the Democratic Republic of Congo, highlighting the violations of articles 2, 5 and 11 by the two personalities concerned. It was mentioned that Jacky Ndala and Denise Mukendi Dusauchoy are invited to appear before the Council to present their defense and provide clarification on the accusations made against them.

The report of the CSAC digital commission was essential in making this decision, highlighting publications containing statements contrary to the law, including videos containing insults and insanities from the social actress in question. This flagrant violation of ethical and legal standards led to the establishment of the embargo for a period of 45 days, in order to preserve the integrity and respect for the fundamental principles governing communication and the media in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The directors of media programs operating in the DRC, as well as online media and social media actors, were formally warned to strictly comply with this measure, under penalty of the sanctions provided for by law. The prosecutor at the Council of State was also requested to ensure the proper implementation of the embargo and guarantee compliance with the CSAC decision.

It is undeniable that this case raises crucial questions about freedom of expression, journalistic ethics and the responsibility of media actors in a context where the dissemination of information is of paramount importance. Fatshimetrie, as a major player in online information, finds itself confronted with sensitive issues that require in-depth reflection on the limits and duties incumbent on everyone in the field of media communication.
