**The Shizzer Bada Affair: Clarifying Truth in the Face of Slander**
In a recent controversy, the Southern Kaduna Professionals Forum (SKPF) has vigorously refuted allegations of fraud against the Kaduna State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Shizzer Bada. Media reports suggesting that Hon. Bada was arrested in Lagos for wrongdoing were grossly exaggerated and inaccurate, according to the group.
Under the interim chairmanship of Arc. Samuel Yakubu, the SKPF has condemned what it termed as a deliberate attempt to tarnish Hon. Bada’s reputation by embittered politicians with ulterior motives. According to Yakubu, the attack is not a first attack on Bada but part of a strategy to sully her name for essentially political reasons.
It is imperative, the group stressed, that journalists scrupulously verify their sources before publishing damaging information, and that anti-corruption agencies exercise discernment so as not to be used as instruments of malice.
SKPF described detractors aiming to tarnish Bada’s image as “enemies of Kaduna State”, seeking to sabotage the administration of Governor Uba Sani. The group commended Hon. Shizzer Bada’s unwavering commitment to Governor Uba Sani’s Sustainability Agenda, stressing that his actions and achievements are widely acknowledged.
Calling on Governor Uba Sani to protect his administration from blackmail attempts and ensure that those actively supporting its success are not targeted, SKPF stressed the importance of not allowing slander and defamation to taint the truth.
In a context where truths are often distorted, it is essential to distinguish facts from unfounded rumors and to favor discernment and transparency. Faced with the integrity and reputation of an individual at stake, objectivity and rigor remain the best weapons to ensure justice and truth prevail.
