Fatshimetrie, September 17, 2024 (FTM).- The enthusiasm of economic operators from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is not weakening ahead of the Congolese week scheduled in the United States of America from September 30 to October 5. The National Agency for Export Promotion (Anapex) plays a central role in mobilizing these key players in international trade, as evidenced by a press release issued this Tuesday.
The recent deposit of more than 50 products by entrepreneurs at the Anapex headquarters for their exhibition during the DRC Week illustrates the enthusiasm and involvement of these players in this export promotion process. These products must meet strict authentication and certification criteria, under the supervision of experts from Anapex and the Congolese Control Office (OCC).
The importance of this event lies not only in the promotion of Congolese products on the international scene, but also in the opportunity offered to entrepreneurs to open up more to the international market, particularly within the framework of the African Growth and Opportunity Agreement (AGOA). Thierry Nsumbu, Director of Product Development and Technical Assistance at Anapex, stressed the imperative for entrepreneurs to comply with the required standards and aim for excellence in the quality of their products.
For his part, Samuel Bachunge, Head of Export Promotion at Anapex, highlighted the potential of this first edition of DRC Week to change the economic narrative of the DRC and open up new commercial prospects for the country. In a context where commercial diplomacy is of paramount importance, this event is part of a more global strategy aimed at strengthening the presence and competitiveness of Congolese products on international markets.
By highlighting the quality and diversity of Congolese products, DRC Week intends to contribute to the country’s economic growth and its recognition on a global scale. This initiative, led by Anapex and supported by local economic players, marks an important step towards consolidating the DRC’s position on the international trade scene and paves the way for new opportunities for partnerships and growth for the Congolese private sector. Congolese Week in the United States of America is thus shaping up to be a major event for the promotion of exports and the economic influence of the DRC.
