This action raises security issues and calls for increased vigilance on the part of the local population.

According to information provided by Lieutenant Jules Ngongo, army spokesman in Ituri, the two South Sudanese militiamen were apprehended in the village of Okabi, in the chiefdom of Kaliko Omi, in possession of weapons and a large stock of war munitions. This arrest underlines the seriousness of the threat posed by armed groups to the stability of the region and the security of the inhabitants.

Lieutenant Jules Ngongo called on the Iturian population, particularly that of Aru, to remain vigilant and to collaborate with the armed forces to fight against the enemies of the Republic.
