After his return to the ministerial office on Monday, September 16, Constant Mutamba, the Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, reaffirmed his desire to continue the courageous reforms he has initiated in his sector. During a speech before the ministry’s executives and agents, he expressed his gratitude to President Félix Tshisekedi for his unwavering support.
Mutamba spoke of the violent attack he was the victim of, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. Thanks to divine protection, the support of the Head of State and the prayers of the Congolese, he survived. “The Congolese people have shown me the way forward. We will persevere in the courageous and innovative reforms we have initiated,” he said.
Returning from a short medical stay in Turkey, where he was treated after being poisoned, Mutamba received many messages of support in Kinshasa. Citizen movements have asked President Tshisekedi to guarantee the safety and health of the Minister of Justice.
This determination displayed by Constant Mutamba demonstrates his commitment to justice and the fight against corruption in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His courage in the face of adversity and his confidence in the ongoing reforms are examples to follow for all political actors in the country.
Ultimately, the survival of Constant Mutamba and his determination to continue his action show that the path to justice is often fraught with pitfalls, but that perseverance and faith can lead to the achievement of reforms essential for the well-being of the Congolese population.
