The recent high-level political gathering, orchestrated by the President of the National Assembly and bringing together the main parliamentary stakeholders, proved to be a key moment to examine the crucial challenges of the September session. At the heart of the discussions, the budgetary issue was scrutinized, reflecting a strong desire to understand the major economic issues shaping the future of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The inter-institutional meeting is in line with the orientations initiated by the President of the Republic during a recent interministerial meeting. The discussions addressed a range of issues affecting all sectors of national life, concrete measures were taken to improve social conditions and promote the sustainable development of the country.

Faced with the persistence of conflicts in the East of the country, it is imperative that both Houses of Parliament make every effort to promote coherent and effective legislative initiatives. Similarly, the Government must mobilize significant resources to proactively address current challenges.

In this context, time is running out for the government led by Judith Suminwa Tuluka, which is approaching the first 100 days of its mandate. Although its marks are not yet fully felt, it has presented an ambitious draft budget for the year 2025, reflecting a significant increase in investments. This parliamentary session is proving crucial to implement these orientations and concretize the measures necessary for the economic recovery of the country.

The challenges are multiple and pressing: maintaining free primary education, developing an efficient free maternity clinic, strengthening the national financial sector and improving the business climate, among others. Structural reforms, particularly in the areas of agriculture and justice, must also be among the priorities, to ensure harmonious and equitable development of the DRC.

In short, this pivotal period for Congolese governance calls for collective and determined action, commensurate with the challenges facing the country. The future of the DRC depends on the ability of its leaders to meet these challenges with vision and commitment, to build a better future for all its citizens.
