The Arewa Youth Consultation Corps (AYCF) strongly condemns the illegal incarceration and inhuman treatment of Navy Seaman, Haruna Abbas, who was subjected to six years of unjust imprisonment, psychological and physical torture.

The President General of AYCF, Yerima Shettima, expresses deep sorrow and outrage over the ordeals suffered by Seaman Abbas, as revealed by his wife, Hussaina Abbas, on Berekete Family Radio in Abuja.

The AYCF unequivocally condemns the actions of the torturers of Seaman Abbas and calls for his immediate and unconditional release and a thorough investigation into his case. The Forum calls on the Nigerian Army and relevant authorities to establish transparent review mechanisms for cases of alleged wrongful detention, particularly those involving military personnel.

The AYCF underscores the need for an environment where justice prevails and the dignity of citizens is upheld, irrespective of their profession or social background.
